Hailing from the beautiful “Nature Island” of Dominica, Garner “Fingee” Fingal had a love for music at a very young age. During his teenage years he was a member of the band Wafrikai. They released the album "Revolution De Cadence," recorded in Martinique under the french label Hit Parade. He co-wrote one of the songs, "Separation Is Not The Answer." He emigrated to the United States in 1978, settling in the very vibrant city New York. He then joined his cousin Brian Rock's band, Moja Nya. He toured for a while with them and parted ways with them during the 1980's. He then was a member of various bands of the NY circuit like ADJA, Final Chapter, and Won Luv. At the turn of the millennium he teamed up with is brother and some friends to form the reggae band Fingees. The band began working on their debut album "What Kind of Life Is This?” in 2000 and it was released in 2002. The album consisted of songs that were spiritually and emotionally charged. It received radio airtime in New York, Chicago, and Dominica. Fingees soon began working on their next album “In Times Like These,” which was released in 2008. Fingee kept the fire burning and stayed writing music and playing shows whenever he could and in 2015 he moved to Florida. After performing solo for four years, he joined the band Roots Almighty in 2019.
His love for writing and singing has expanded his musical career and in 2020 he released his first single “Vote Them Out” and most recently released “Give and You Will Get” under his own label Brave Cat Productions. Music is overflowing and never ending, the best is yet to come!
